JODY BLENCOWE
idea ace
Senior Consultant
With an inclination towards learning and problem solving, as well as an ability to roll up his sleeves and get things done, our “idea ace” is a champion at taking projects from the ideation process all the way to completion. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics and Environmental Science, Jody worked as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years before earning his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to finding his way to Think Up, Jody spent nearly 14 years at Marriott International supporting, leading, and consulting on projects in HR, Finance, IT, Operations, and Brand. He was also a key member of the Courtyard brand management team, helping to drive the overall strategy, priorities, and goals of the brand. As a Senior Consultant, Jody embraces the unbridled optimism and energy of Think Up to tackle problems and develop creative solutions. With a competitive spirit and the heart of a team-player, Jody thrives on collaborating with others to “make things better” and loves work that allows him to think outside the box to create a unique product or experience. When not at work, his passion lies in being the best father he can be, teaching his boy-girl twins to embrace life, respect others, eat their veggies, and have fun!
Beside the point...
- A music lover at heart, he has attended hundreds of live shows, including one of the first Dave Matthews Band concerts while at UVA.
- Sharks, manatees, rays, dolphins, and sea turtles, oh my! Over the years, Jody has gone swimming with all of these sea creatures on various trips and excursions.
- He loves just about any kind of spicy food or hot sauce – jalapenos, habaneros, Thai chili peppers—you name it. He’s also been known to stockpile large quantities of Tabasco… just in case there ever happens to be a run on his favorite spicy condiment.
